TRI-SULFA
Sterile Solution Trimethoprim and Sulphadiazine for injection
COMPOSITION:
Each 1 ml. Contains
Sulphadiazine Sodium. 200 mg
(Equivalent to Sulphadiazine base 183, 85mg)
Trimethoprim 40 mg
INDICATIONS:
TRI-SULFA injection is indicated for cattle, horse, dog and cat for the treatment of
Alimentary tract infections as neonatal diarrhea and salmonellosis
Urogenital tract infections including metritis, nephritis, urethritis, vaginitis and cystitis.
Respiratory tract infections such as rhinitis, pneumonia and bronchitis
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Cattle: 1 ml TRI-SULFA injection per 15 Kg body weight by intramuscular or slow intravenous injection
Horse: 1 ml TRI-SULFA injection per 15 Kg body weight by slow intravenous injection
Dog and Cat: 1 ml TRI-SULFA injection per 7, 5 Kg body weight by subcutaneous injection
A single injection may be Sufficient but in severe infection. it may be repeated daily for up to 5 days
Contra-Indications:
- Not used for animals showing hypersensitivity to sulphonamides.
- Not used for animals with severe liver parenchymal damage.
- Not used for animals with severe kidney disease or blood dyscrasias.
- Not used in lactating cattle.
Side Effects:
Transient local reactions at the site of injection
WITHDRAWAL PERIODS:
Cattle Meat. 12 day
Milk. 48 hours
Animals must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment
Storage:
Store at temperature not exceeding 30°C
